RW67R 2000 Mottled Duck,

The Key West Lighthouse is pictured in this remarque by Adam Grimm. The lighthouse is at Whitehead’s Point, the southernmost point on Key West, and is a fitting match for the mottled duck on the stamp. Mottled ducks are a non-migratory resident of the Gulf Coast region. A close relative of both the mallard and the black duck, the species also embraces the bird once known as the Florida duck. Grimm won the contest at 21, while still a college student, making him the youngest federal duck stamp artist ever. Stamp is signed by the artist in the selvage. VF NH.
